Congressman Bob Filner, Chair of the Veterans Affairs
Committee, Nominates ACVOW for Veterans Allegiance Award
"ACVOW is composed of dedicated veterans that continuously standout
for their leadership throughout the San Diego community.

The services, experience and accomplishments of ACVOW speak for
themselves.  It is important that we continue to recognize organizations

again, it is an honor to nominate ACVOW for the 2008-2009 Veterans

ACVOW and the Family
Domestic violence is never justified in any circumstance.  Indeed, the
impact on the family is among the most tragic effects of combat stress.
We send our sons and daughters to war and they return to us changed
men and women.  Often the changes manifest themselves violently or
through withdrawal.  Gone untreated, post traumatic stress and traumatic
brain injury can devastate families and leave them fragmented.
